Advanced Diving certification and Dive Computers are required for deep wreck dives. If you are not Advanced certified contact me at info@blueiguanacharters.com and I'll tell you how we can make this happen during your trip.

Sample Itinerary:

You may board the "M/V KATE" anytime the evening before your trip after 7:00 P.M. and put away your gear.  This is a good time to meet the crew and get acquainted with the vessel.  We have a great local pub next door called "Shipwrecks" this is a great place to have some great food at reasonable prices.  We will meet back at the boat at 10:00 P.M. to address paperwork and briefings.  Sometime during the night or early morning hours the "KATE" will head out to the first dive site.

Day One:

You will awake to a wonderful breakfast prepared by our infamous galley wench Pasha.  As soon as you are ready you can start your first dive of the day.  We normally pick a shallow dive, something in the 30 foot range or less, to get everyone acquainted with the Florida Keys water.  (and your weight adjusted.)  Dive two will be a deep wreck such as the USS Spiegel Grove followed by a reef dive.  By now it should be close to lunchtime and Pasha will have us a hardy meal spread out in the galley.  This is followed by two more dives, then a nice home cooked dinner.  Weather permitting after dinner we will do a night dive on a shallow reef. After that its time to anchor up in a nice protected area and settle in for the night, maybe watch a movie from Capt Scotty's collection or maybe watch some video that one of the guest shot during the day or just set up on the top deck and watch the stars and enjoy the night air.

Day Two:

Pretty much the same just Dive and Eat....and Dive more!!!

Day Three:

Dive and eat all day .....only difference is we will head back the dock sometime late afternoon or early evening.

That sorta sums up the trip.  Important thing is for everyone to have a good time and get lots of diving in.  The group will set the dive schedule, and the crew will make it the trip you will always remember.

R/V Kate Liveaboard Diving in the FLORIDA Keys

Originally built as a pleasure yacht, the 65-foot Research Vessel Kate was converted to a liveaboard charter vessel in 1986. Accompanied by professional and experienced staff, the R/V Kate is both a United States Coast Guard and Bahamian inspected charter yacht.

Safe and comfortable for 12 guests and 4 crew, the R/V Kate is equipped with full amenities including an abundance of hot fresh water, air conditioning, comfortable beds, an entertainment center including DVD, VHS, and CD players, media library, 110-volt electricity, an extensive galley (kitchen), two clean heads (restrooms) with large stand-up showers, and a full sundeck as well as scuba diving, fishing, and snorkeling equipment.

In addition to the on board amenities, the vessel is equipped with ample safety equipment including an extensive safe-a-vacation first aid kit, oxygen, full navigational electronics, VHF and SSB radios, life jackets, life rafts, fire extinguishers, and an inflatable dingy.

Life on board the R/V Kate is informal and relaxing. While enjoying your solitude, you will encounter a stress free atmosphere where dressing down is encouraged and world news is only in the back of your mind.

The R/V Kate is separated into several clean and sanitary areas including sleeping accommodations, heads, salon, and sundeck. Sleeping accommodations are in two spacious cabins. The bow cabin has two double and four single beds, while the side cabin has four single beds. The beds are upper/lower bunk-style with privacy curtains and individual reading lights. Although there is ample room for guests, please be considerate and pack light.

Each of the heads on the R/V Kate have large stand-up showers, electric push button toilets, household sinks with hot and cool water, mirrors, and 110-volt electrical outlets.

For your comfort, the salon has cushioned benches and single chair seating surrounding two large tables and an entertainment center. On the other side of the salon is the galley. You will find ample space for your camera and video equipment with 110-volt electrical outlets easily accessible for charging your batteries.

Regardless if it's sun, gorgeous islands, blue water, amazing marine life, the sundeck on the R/V Kate offers an ideal location for sunbathing or sight-seeing. Partially covered, there is also space for additional kayaking, diving, or snorkeling equipment. The aft deck has a wide swim platform with a Christmas tree ladder for easy exits
